Atlas Frisco VO-1000
This exciting announcement from Atlas means four new locomotives for many Frisco layouts!
Not only do we get two Frisco road numbers but real fans will also go for the two Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis locomotives.
Built by Baldwin in the 1940s, the VO-1000 diesel locomotives could be found in both yard and mainline service across the country. Atlas’ version is a true replica of the handsome engine.
Atlas notes the following features:
- Now Available in a DCC equipped version.
- Directional lighting.
- Step guards and exhaust stacks as appropriate per railroad.
- Blackened metal wheels.
- Factory-equipped with AccuMate® knuckle couplers.
- Slower speed motor for closer to scale speeds.
The manufacturers suggested retail price is $109.95 and the decoder-equipped versions are $144.95. The items are forecast to be delivered in the Spring of 2013.

Frisco item/road numbers are 40 000 543/222 and 40 000 544/226, and TRRA item/road numbers are 40 000 548/592 and 40 000 549/596.
