Athearn 60′ PS Auto Parts Boxcar
Athearn first released it’s 60 foot PS Auto Parts Boxcar in 2005 bearing road numbers 9003, 9008, 9016 and 9024. Now, comes word that three more road numbers will join the fleet; 9004 (Item Number ATH12134), 9012 (ATH12135), and 9021 (ATH12136).
Athearn offers the following promotional language:

PROTOTYPE INFORMATION:
During the 1960’s, Ford Motor Company, Pullman Standard and Santa Fe pooled their resources to develop a standard boxcar to meet the transportation needs of automobile manufacturers in the United States. Delivered in 1965, the Pullman Standard auto parts boxcar is the most prolific example of this type of freight car. It ultimately changed the face of automobile manufacturing and rail transportation.
Orders are due by July 19, 2013 and these boxcars are slated for delivery in February 2014. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $25.98.
Although we are still waiting for the last N Scale Frisco items announced by Athearn we have hope for more new products.
